I provided creative direction for Son of the Velvet Rat’s new press kit, producing and shooting on location in Yucca Valley. Working with natural light and Profoto strobes, I set out to show a warmer, gentler side to their 20+ year partnership while staying close to the quiet, melancholic tone of their music. Donkeys Taco and Moose, sourced with the help of a local musician, added a whimsical layer to portraits set against the isolation of the high desert.
